49ers are in talks with former NFL player for new uniform
The 49ers announced today that former NFL lineman Chris Purdy has been hired to join the team as a designer for the upcoming season.
Purdy previously worked for the New England Patriots as a creative consultant.
Punctuating his time in the NFL, Purdy is also a freelance graphic designer and the co-founder of The Pro Tools Design Group.
Purgatory, a graphic design studio founded by Purdy and his son, also has been involved with the 49ers for several years.
The 49ers were one of the first NFL teams to wear Purdy’s Pro Tools logo in their uniforms.
He previously worked as a graphic designer for former Super Bowl Champion New England Patriot quarterback Tom Brady.
Proud of his career, Purgatory will design new 49ers uniforms as well as the new jersey and pants for the team’s 2017 season.
Purdy joins a list of former NFL players who have been hired for new uniforms by the 49er brand.
The first wave of Purdy uniforms will debut in the 2019 season, while the new look will debut next season.
The 49er logo will also be used for the new pants, jersey, and socks.
Purdy’s first design job with the team was for a new uniform for the 2014 season.
He created the uniforms for the San Francisco 49ers, and also designed a few of the uniforms worn by the New York Jets during the 2014-15 season.
