Trump says he has “absolutely” not spoken to President Obama, but his former press secretary says he does: “He has not spoken” to the President
CNN White House correspondent John King reports that Trump said during a Friday press conference that he has not talked to the president.
But he added that he did speak with Obama.
“We’ve had a very productive conversation,” Trump said, according to CNN.
“He hasn’t talked to me.
He hasn’t spoken to me at all.”
Obama was reportedly furious about the leak of his emails during the 2016 presidential campaign.
He has since said that he will not discuss the contents of his communications with the President of the United States, and the President has since been more forthcoming about the issue.
The leak prompted calls for Obama to resign, and a number of high-profile Democrats have suggested that he should do so.
Trump said during the press conference on Friday that he was “saddened” by the leaks and he called the leaks “very serious.”
“It’s not a good look, and I’m sorry about that, and that’s why I’m taking a very hard look at it, and frankly, that’s what’s going to be very, very difficult for me to do,” he added.
